- Q: Are these cables UL approved
- A: Molex DisplayPort cable assembly is UL recognised products
- Q: What is the max current for the connecter?
- A: The DP specification defines this as 0.5 A minimum. The specification does not define a maximum.
- Q: when will the Dongle and Adaptor be available in the market ?
- A: Early Production Samples and qualification volume on DP-HDMI and DP-DVI will be available in ~Jan, 2008.
- Q: Power consumption for DP electronics?
- A: 1W for all DP-DVI, DP-HDMI and DP-VGA dongles/adapters.
- Q: DP to Dual link DVI possible ?
- A: Yes. But at this time there are no one-chip solutions. So the adapter would likely have to be implemented in an external box with an external power supply. Currently Molex is not planning to develop this product.
- Q: Is there any license fee for DP in the future?
- A: Customer requirements.
