Q:Slide 29: How about the cost competivity for the Class D change/upgreat from Class A/B? slightly higher?
A:NXP continuously strives to bring costs down for Class D amplifiers. Generally, the cost of Class D amplifiers is higher than Class AB, but there are other savings that can be achieved using Class D amps. For example, Class D amps allow for smaller heatsinks (or even no heatsink at all), they need a smaller power supply unit and make it possible to design slimmer and sleeker products due to higher efficiency. Cost aside, energy efficient products are also becoming increasingly important and are in greater demand from consumers.
