Overview
Since the very beginning of Switching Mode Power Supply, controller type solution with separated power switching devices means higher flexibility but much more design efforts. Not to mention the part of complicated loop compensation modeling and calculation. National Semiconductor's brand new constant ON-Time based Emulated Ripple Mode (ERM) regulation scheme provides an extremely cutting-edge and simple solution to design an efficient medium current step down power converter. This technology combines no loop compensation requirement, high efficiency, constant switching frequency, and stability over wide load range. In this presentation we'll be talking about how ERM works and how it benefits system hardware engineer's design with our new online design tools.
Company Introduction
National Semiconductor creates energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal semiconductors. Its PowerWise® products enable systems that consume less power, extend battery life, and generate less heat. Headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., National reported sales of $1.89 billion for fiscal 2008 which ended May 25, 2008. Additional company and product information is available atwww.national.com
